Science of Airsoft Act 1 (selection your first gun)

Hello all you airsofters out there. After talking with many of you I decided to write this series of articles to help players.

Selecting your first gun.

Most people fall in love with a type of gun because of the looks. But must of the time (if you are not a chairsofter) you will be looking down your sights at the target with your gun firmly gripped in your hands. My first tip for selecting your airsoft gun is to pick it up in your hands.

1)Does it feel comfortable and is it ergonomic  (adjust it to make certain)
2)Try the gun with your gear on (do your goggles, gloves, etc fit and feel good)
3)Can you target well with the iron sights, red dot, magnifier or scope.
4)Check the weight and feel (not everyone can carry a 249 for 6 hours)

Once these basic tests are performed it is much simpler to pick your first airsoft. I have seen many players in the past buy a brand new gun for the look just to figure out a week or two later that they did not like it because it did not feel right in their hands.

So please try out your first airsoft before you buy it and test it with an opened mind with the four steps mentioned before. You never know you what fits you best before you try it. You might want an M4 and end up with AK47 or the revers.
